Our Story
Meet Penny, the founder and creative heart behind Gerry & Olly. Born and raised in South Africa, Penny spent much of her life surrounded by a culture celebrated for its vibrancy, rich colours, and beautiful textiles — influences that continue to shape her designs today.
The idea for Gerry & Olly was born when Penny became a Gogo (the Zulu word for grandmother). Finding joy in creating thoughtful, handmade gifts for her grandchildren, she began crafting pieces that were not only practical, but filled with love and meaning.
It wasn’t long before these creations became favourites among family and friends. This is where the magic of Gerry & Olly truly began.
